MEETING CHANGES

MONTAUK FIRE DISTRICT MEETING CHANGES

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Commissioner Workshop meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Montauk Fire District, orginally scheduled for Wednesday February 28th is cancelled.

Also the Regular Commissioner Meeting for March has been rescheduled from March 12, 2024 to March 6, 2024 at 6:30pm.

All meetings of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Montauk  Fire District are open to the public.

This notice is being publicized and posted in accordance with the provisions of Section 104 of teh Public officers Law of the State of New York.

Approval Denied for Radio Repeaters at GATR Site_

After working for almost 10 years to erect a repeater tower at the GATR Site East Hampton Town has given the tast to Suffolk County Police who have moved forward with the project with supprising speed. A 80ft tower will be ercted that will have Suffolk and State Police repeaters along with Montauk Fire Department, United States Coast Guard and commericial cell phone companies on it. The coverage area will not only cover all of montauk point and its immediate area but will cover Plum Island, Gardeners Island , Fire Island and Possibly Block Island as well.
