Approval Denied for Radio Repeaters at GATR Site_
The areas mainly effected
include the Montauk harbor area, the Suffolk Co. Park on East Lake Dr.
and the Montauk Point State Park. Radio reception (which is
line-of-sight) is obscured in these areas by high hills blocking the
signal. The new antenna installation will allowed for a direct
line-of-site uplink to existing emergency services radio
equipment and re-broadcast the signal from a location on top of Prospect Hill that would
increase coverage of signal in all these problem areas.
